Welcome to Emsworth School of Navigation

Emsworth School of Navigation is an RYA approved training centre specialising in shore based theory courses including RYA Essential Navigation & Seamanship, RYA Day Skipper Theory, RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory, RYA VHF/SRC Radio Course, RYA First Aid Course and RYA Diesel Engine Course, Introduction to Boat Electrics.

The centre is run by Karen Dorontic who is a commercially endorsed yachtmaster and instructor.  She has been sailing for over twenty years and has a wide variety of experience including an Atlantic Crossing, yacht deliveries in the Mediterranean and cruising in her own boat along the South Coast. Her aim is to deliver enjoyable well structured courses in a relaxed and friendly environment in order for students to leave confident and looking forward to putting their new skills into practice. Instruction is given using up to date teaching aids and computers in our modern classroom. Class sizes for all of our courses are small to ensure that everyone gets the attention they require and to leave plenty of time for open discussion of key areas both on and off the syllabus. 

We are based at Emsworth Yacht Harbour in the picturesque Hampshire village of Emsworth which is located in Chichester Harbour, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village is well supplied with accommodation, pubs and restaurants.
