This very practical one day course is designed to take away the confusion of integrating marine instruments with chart plotters, AIS, autopilots etc.
During the day the day the following will be covered in detail:
- Various marine network
- How to combine NMEA0183, SeaTalk1, SeaTalk NG, NMEA 2000 and J1939 equipment via network connectors
- How to extend the NMEA0183 capability through buffers and multiplexors and converting the data into the “backbone” approach used in NMEA2000 and J1939.
- Use of analogue converters to display engine data such as oil pressure, temperature and fuel tank level
- Sensors and transducers
- Introducing AIS to the system
Students can bring in their own bits to link into the system or their manuals to help to understand how they would communicate with other equipment on the network.
The course is run from 9.00am to approximately 5.30pm. Tea, coffee and all equipment to complete the course will be provided. You can get lunch from the Village which is a short walk away or alternatively bring a packed lunch with you
